Move Now to the established phase of Clark's Grove!
The Town Center Bread Coffee House on Raphael Street has expanded their menu and hours. The owners, Charles and Linda Skrobot are committed to providing Covington residents with a place to sit back, relax and enjoy a hot cup of java, iced drinks, special breads, desserts and a lunch menu. A new mix of music and relaxation will be a big part of enjoyment at the Town Center Breads Coffee House. More news coming soon. The Raphael Building, a live/work building that is home to the University of Georgia College of Environment and Design's metropolitan Design Studio was Clark's Grove Live/Work home. The live/work building is an old concept that is being rediscovered as an ideal way to cut down on unnecessary commuting. One can have their place of business whether it's an office, store or cafe, on the ground floor, and live above it in stylish loft fashion. Residents enjoy gardening in the Organic Garden, relaxing at the pool, visiting with neighbors while walking the trails, watching the little league softball teams practice and having cook-outs at the pavilion. Looking towards the expansion of Clark's Grove, plans for Phase Two are underway. This phase will be anchored by the new sanctuary for the Church of The Good Shepherd, Episcopal Church. The church will stand proudly at the southeastern end of the Hunt Green, a spacious park in the heart of Phase Two. Surrounding the park will also be live/work units, townhomes and a senior mid-rise building designed for active adults, swimming pool and single-family detached homes. Also looking into future expansion, The Montessori School of Covington is contemplating growing new primary and lower elementary classes, expanding the middle school program and possibly adding a high school. Parents are currently conducting a feasibility study to see what kind of demand there may be for a new high school, while also undertaking preliminary planning for adding a second building to their campus. |
